When looking for Overclock Validator on validator dashboards or via cli, the correct on-chain addresses are shown below. These can be used to search and verify that the validator you are staking to is indeed the Overclock validator. We recommend using Stakewiz to check for Overclock's current staking commission, APY, uptime, and other information.

The most common way that Solana users stake is via the UI of a Solana wallet. It's relatively intuitive, but the common Solana wallets listed below include hyperlinks to staking walkthroughs. Trust Wallet is a very popular multichain wallet, but there have been some occasional UX issues for users staking through it.

Those with a hardware wallet such as a Ledger often stake through the Ledger Live UI but all Solana wallet providers have Ledger integrations where one can connect their Ledger and use the wallet UI similar to Ledger Live. As of today, Ledger is widely supported, Keystone is usable through Solflare, and Trezor has not provided good Solana support.

If one is more technically sophisticated, they can also stake via the Solana command line.

Staking on an exchange like Coinbase is also possible but exchanges will stake your tokens to their own validator and the staking rewards are typically not great due to higher commission.

  • Not possible to delegate to Overclock or other "community" validators

  • Staking to exchanges has high fees and is negative for network decentralization

  • An exchange takes custody of your funds
